Josh Smith
Acoustic Guitar and Vocals

Originally from Ripley, Mississippi, Josh was bread to play football, but just wasn’t his main interest.  His singing career started at age 8 when he began singing in competitions and fairs.  Around age 17, Josh started to pickup and learn to play the guitar.  At age 18, he joined Campus Country at Northeast Community College, where he would eventually meet Jonathan Singleton, William Coats, and Andy Dixon.  It was there that Josh and William formed a group called Shagadoo, which dismembered in late 2001.  After the breakup, Josh decided to go back to college and finish his degree.  In the late 2002, Josh received a call to join The Grove, where he would once again be playing with his old drummer William who had joined the group earlier that year.  Even though his career in music looked to be gone, this was an opportunity he couldn’t refuse.  Josh now brings to the table harmonies, lead vocals, and rhythm guitar that help make up the unmistakable sound of The Grove.
